This August, Graycliff is excited to announce an evening fundraising event in collaboration with Buffalo-based boutique wine store Paradise Wine. Erica Sigler of Rosenthal Wine Merchant is coming to WNY for the occasion of presenting five exceptional wines to the guests of this special tasting event. Tour de France: Wine Tasting at Graycliff With Erica Sigler of Rosenthal Wine Merchant will include an evening of wine tasting on Graycliff’s historic grounds with wine curated by Paradise Wine—full wine menu is included below. Each ticket includes the wine tasting, an individually-packaged gourmet light meal inspired by French cuisine by Osteria 166 (vegetarian option is available), and a tour coupon to come back on another occasion and have an Extended Tour of Graycliff. All proceeds will benefit Graycliff Conservancy. The event is planned for Wednesday, August 4th at 5:30 pm, with a rain date of Thursday, August 5th and will be limited to 40 guests. Thévenet Blanc de Blanc
Thenenet makes only 500 cases annually of this delightful sparkler from the south of Burgundy, located in the heart of the Maconnais. Made from 100% Chardonnay, a captivating wine with a crisp and delicate mousse and a delicious lemon cream texture. 2017 Clos des Rocs Pouilly-Loché
100% Chardonnay. A gem of a property from the tiny village of Loché, just outside Vergisson and Fuissé in the Macon region of Southern Burgundy. Precise and careful in the vineyards and cellar, with zero additions aside from a splash of SO2 at bottling, these are terroir specific wines that compete with the best villages wines of the Cote d’Or. Bright, pastel yellow color in the glass, expressive with aromas of gala apples, dried hay, nutmeg and strong chalky minerals.. Medium bodied on the palate, honeycrisp apples, ginger and lees are prominent with fresh forest air and great lifting acidity rounding out the whole experience. Organic farming practices
2015 Domaine Gerard Condrieu l’Arbuel
Comprised of parcels too small to bottle individually, the ‘l’Arbuel’ from Xavier Gérard is planted to granite, the dominant soil of the far north sector of the Northern Rhône. Vinified and aged in a combination of 600l demi-muid and 228l barrique (all neutral), this luscious, silky – yet restrained – Viognier shows gorgeous hints of ripe white peach, honeysuckle, and spiced florals. On the finish, the skin of that ripe peach and deeply mineral, mouthwatering acidity. This hits

2019 Domaine de la Chapelle des Bois Chiroubles
The highest of the 10 Beaujolais crus, Chiroubles can be light, but not this exceptional 2019 from Domaine de la Chapelle. A top Beaujolais producer in Beaujolais, Chapelle has crafted this red for near term enjoyment. Bright and decadent red packed with dark red cherry, damson plums and savory undercurrents. Medium body with deep black fruits. Blackberry liqueur, hints of dried rosemary, licorice, and woodsy notes round out the palate on this stunning expression of Gamay. Organic farming practices
2017 Domaine la Manarine Plan de Dieu Les Terres Saintes CdR
Located in the farmed Cotes-du-Rhone region, Domaine la Manarine is situated largely on what is known as the “Le Plan de Dieu ”, distinguished by the particular character of its soil, consisting of more than 60% hard limestone “galets” (large smooth rocks also known as “pudding stones”). This is a richly textured red, full-bodied, yet pure and silky, layered with red berries, rose petal, hints of black tea, dried oregano and scented with fields of French lavender. A Michigan native, Erica Sigler attended college in Chicago and became interested in wine while moonlighting weekends at an esteemed European-focused wine bar with a deep cellar. Over the years, Erica’s experience in wine has spanned retail, restaurant, wholesale sales, and most recently as European Portfolio Manager with a New York-based importer and distributor. Though her cellar visits have spanned several European countries, Erica’s most extensive studies remain within the Burgundy region, and her experience is deeply rooted in the classic wines of France and Italy. Now representing importer Rosenthal Wine Merchant in New York and Connecticut, she focuses on building and maintaining a strong Burgundy clientele. The nonprofit Graycliff Conservancy, a 501(c)(3), is dedicated to the preservation of the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed structures and grounds, along with the Ellen Biddle Shipman-designed gardens and landscape, that comprise Graycliff, the summer retreat of Isabelle & Darwin Martin of Buffalo, NY (designed in in 1926 and built between 1927 and 1931).
