There are now plenty of precious jewels in New Jersey with the names Liam and Olivia.
The Social Security Administration on Friday announced that those names topped the list of most popular baby names in New Jersey for 2021.
New Jersey is in good company, with the agency announcing last week that they were also the most popular in the entire United States last year. New parents are sticking with the familiar, with Liam the top choice for five years in a row, while Olivia has been tops for girls for the past three years.

The Social Security Administration began compiling the list of baby names in 1997, complete with baby names dating back to 1880. When parents apply for their baby’s Social Security card, the names are added to the list.
The SSA also compiles a list of the fastest-rising baby names.

Acting Commissioner Kilolo Kijakazi encouraged everyone to create a My Social Security account at socialsecurity.gov/myaccount.
